Position Summary

We are seeking compassionate, motivated, and dependable Youth Services Consultants to guide students ages 14-18, including those facing challenges at school, home, or in their communities. This is a very important role that combines mentoring, life-skills coaching, and career exploration to help students build confidence, resilience, and future-ready skills.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) for the five focus areas:
- Job Exploration Counseling
- Work-Based Learning Experiences
- Postsecondary Education Counseling
- Workplace Readiness Training
- Self-Advocacy Instruction
Mentor and support youth facing personal, academic, or social challenges.
Lead engaging career exploration activities using tools such as career assessments, job tours, and guest speakers.
Facilitate group and one-on-one sessions on workplace readiness, communication, and self-advocacy.
Coordinate work-based learning opportunities in collaboration with local businesses and organizations.
Maintain accurate documentation of student participation, progress, and outcomes and submit weekly reports.
Coordinate with local businesses and organizations to provide work-based learning opportunities.
Promote a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students can succeed.

Qualifications

Strong communication, mentoring, facilitation, and leadership skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate youth in both group and one-on-one settings.
Organized, dependable, and comfortable with reporting/documentation.
Must pass a background check.
Experience working with youth, particularly those considered “at-risk” or with disabilities a plus but not required.
Ability to build trust and rapport with students and families.
Knowledge of career development, workforce readiness, or vocational training preferred but not required.
Takes the initiative for proactiveness and displays an eagerness to learn.

Job Title: TEP Camp Support Specialist

Location: Arkansas School for Math, Sciences, & Arts (ASMSA), Hot Springs, Arkansas

Position Summary

The Camp Site Support Staff plays an essential role in the Transition Employment Program (TEP), a summer initiative under Arkansas Rehabilitation Services (ARS) designed to help youth with disabilities explore career pathways, develop job readiness skills, and build confidence through hands-on learning. The Site Support Team keeps the TEP experience running smoothly — providing refreshments and snacks to fuel students and staff during designated breaks and ensuring every day feels welcoming and energized. We also host two fun, hands-on craft nights designed to help students and staff connect, create, and build lasting friendships in a relaxed, supportive setting. To round out the experience, our team coordinates off-site transportation to a local outdoor event venue, where students enjoy interactive activities and team-building adventures that bring classroom lessons to life.

Key Responsibilities

Program Support & Supervision

Assist with daily setup, cleanup, and coordination of TEP camp activities.
Support instructors and program leads during workshops, job simulations, and field trips.
Provide supervision and engagement for student participants during on-site and off-site activities.

Logistics & Administrative Support

Help distribute supplies, snacks, T-shirts, and materials for students and staff.
Coordinate with transportation providers for off-site learning experiences.
Support ARS staff and leadership as needed

Qualifications

Experience working with youth, students with disabilities, or summer programs preferred, but not required
Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
Reliable, flexible, and able to adapt in dynamic environments.
Ability to pass required background
Must be compassionate, be organized, display teamwork, have patients, and a strong commitment to youth development

Working Conditions

Seasonal, full-time position (1 week during June).
Daily hours vary by site (approximately 8-10 hours/day).
Work occurs both indoors and outdoors
Room and board will be provided at the ASMSA
